Had a pair of leather mules purchased almost 10 years back in Florence that we loved, but it was definitely lacking a lot of care after not being used or cared for. Googled a few different shops and decided to go to Mason & Smith instead of the usual shoe repair shops as I wanted to make sure my shoes were well taken care of.

The service was excellent; and the kind shopkeeper patiently explained to me what my battered shoes needed for a new lease of life. When I asked about increasing the height of the heel; they also gave their professional advice that it would affect the wearing experience. They also went the extra mile to expedite the collection timeline of my shoes.

My shoes came back looking almost brand new, but yet retaining the patina of the leather. Definitely a trusted brand for any of your leather shoes!

I contacted this shop about a complex resole job on my boots - removing the injection-molded sole and Blake stitching a leather midsole with a Vibram 132 outsole.
Even though they didn't take my business, I'm writing this review because of their exceptional honesty and expertise. They clearly explained why my plan wouldn't work:

The injection-molded construction would require adding a welt to non-welted shoes
Creating new holes would weaken the structure
The curved original sole would leave visible damage when removed
The end result would be fragile and unsustainable

They patiently answered all my follow-up questions with technical detail, helping me understand the construction methods and risks. Instead of taking my money for a repair that would fail, they gave me honest advice that saved me time and frustration.
This is the kind of integrity you want in a cobbler - someone who prioritizes doing right by the customer over making a quick buck. Highly recommend for their expertise and ethical business practices. I'll definitely return when I have properly constructed boots that need repair.
